The 36 Dassault Rafale multirole fighters that Qatar has ordered will arrive in the emirate between 2019 and 2022, according to Eric Chevallier, the French ambassador to Doha.
The first Qatari squadron is being set up at Mont-de-Marsan Air Base in southwest France.
Chevallier told journalists that more than 200 pilots and technicians have been trained; this number will rise to 400, the Qatari newspaper Al-Raya reported on 10 July.
